Hi I am Jesse Gold and I’m a LGPC (Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor) at Inner-Evolution Counseling, Coaching & Yoga. I completed my graduate studies at Antioch University in 2022.
We all have that voice in our heads saying we are not good enough, not attractive enough, not capable, or somehow inferior. A lifetime of living in a normative culture that dismisses or marginalizes our identities and individuality has led a lot of us to feel uncertain, frightened, anxious, depressed, or struggling with other mental health issues.
At Inner-Evolution I lead Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills class in addition to providing individual and couples therapy. I am passionate about working with people experiencing symptoms related to borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, complex trauma, ADHD, anxiety and depression.
As a trauma-informed practitioner, I see trust and collaboration as primary to the therapeutic relationship. In working with clients, I am committed to creating a nonjudgmental, warm, safe environment that fosters growth, exploration and the opportunity to dig deep into our experiences as humans.
I am also a strong advocate for incorporating somatic practices into psychotherapy, and treating the person as a whole. I am a certified Yoga teacher (to certified yoga teacher) who loves gentle and restorative practice.
I am a gender affirming queer positive therapist with a lifelong commitment to social justice that includes advocating for access to mental health care for all. I am interested in how our experiences with our intersecting identities have shaped us as people and how stigma and power structures can impact our mental health. LGBTQ+ issues are close to my heart, as are the work of creating a body positive culture and dismantling racism.
