Insurance

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part.

Several of our providers are in network with most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans (excluding Maryland Medicare and Medicaid), and Cigna/Evernorth.

If the clinician you are working with is included as a provider for your insurance we will file claims on your behalf. We cannot guarantee coverage until receiving final word from the insurance company.

We strongly advise you to reach out directly to your insurance plan to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.

We recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have out of network coverage and if so, what does it cover and what is the process for filing claims?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Out of Network Reimbursement

If you have out of network coverage there are a few options for seeking out reimbursement from your insurance company.

1. Always start with contacting your insurance directly to make sure you are clear on your policy when it comes to out of network coverage.

2. You may wish to use a 3rd party service such as Mentaya. This is a platform that helps clients get money back on out-of-network therapy sessions. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year. You can sign up using this link:

Note: We do not work directly with Mentaya.  It's completely optional, and as your provider, we do not benefit in any way from your participation.

Payment

We accept cash and  all major credit cards as forms of payment. Payment is required at the time of service.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. We charge a $50 fee for less than 24 hr (business hours) cancellation. No shows are charged at the full rate of the session.

Remember:

You are legally responsible for paying for any therapy services you receive

  • This is true even if:

    • Your insurance denies the claim

    • You thought something was covered but wasn't

    • You lose your insurance coverage

    • There's a billing mistake

  • Always ask about costs upfront

  • Get everything in writing when possible

  • Keep track of your payments and insurance statements
